The Smeg fab30 fridge freezer, and the Smeg fab32, are both available in a series of shockingly groovy colors – enough that any kitchen, anywhere on earth and quite a few places off of it, will be more then complemented by the hue. From the frankly awesome lime green to the range’s flagship red (imagine a classic sports car you can keep cheese in), these new Smeg appliances ooze style and class to beat the band.

So – what are the numbers for? Simple. Add a zero and you’ve got the storage capacity in liters, of each one. Making the Smeg fab30 fridge freezer worth a whopping 300 liters of food and drink – and the Smeg fab32 even more generous, swallowing 3200 liters. Enough, then, to feed a family of five with room to spare. The new Smegs don’t just look good – they’ve been designed as well as all the old Smeg stuff, too.

Favorite design features include specifiable hinge locations, allowing customers to have a fridge freezer whose doors either open to the right or to the left; and the wonderful coalition of old styles and new lines, which manages to make the new Smegs in town look as though they’ve come from a future obsessed with all that was great about the past. There’s a nice even split between fridge space and freezer space, too, ensuring that the Smeg fab30 and the Smeg fab32 both manage to sidestep the traditional shortcoming of most oversize fridge and freezer combinations. The fab30 loses a little freezer space here, presumably in order to retain the generous fridge capacity – but, overall, both are excellent bets for the household with large storage requirements and an eye for fashion.

There aren’t many appliances on this or any other planet that look good enough to cause actual desire: but the new Smegs do so with ease. So much so, in fact, that one has to wonder whether anyone considering a new fridge freezer (provided, of course, they’re as hip to the groove as the design team at Smeg) would even look at another option. The Smeg fab32 and the Smeg fab30 have landed. Don’t ask from where. Just be happy they’re here.

Refrigeration and freezing equipment is also used for the storage of medical or pharmaceutical supplies. A blood bank uses a lab refrigerator to preserve the quality of its blood supply. Laboratory refrigerators and lab freezers that store blood and blood products must meet a variety of regulatory and quality standards for obvious reasons. Flammable storage laboratory refrigerators are UL approved for storage of flammable chemicals; lab freezers are often used for this purpose as well. Flammable storage refrigerators have no electrical sparking devices, relays, switches or thermostats that could ignite flammable vapors inside the cabinet. They may also incorporate design features such as thresholds, self-closing doors, magnetic door gaskets and special inner shell materials that control or limit the damage should a reaction occur within the storage compartment.

A label stating ‘Flammable Materials Refrigerator: Keep fire away’ should identify such refrigerators. Flammable storage units cannot be placed in a room containing explosive vapors, but chemicals that exude explosive vapors can be safely stored inside them. They are called lab-safe, fire-safe or explosion safe refrigerators. These refrigerators are more costly than the standard household or even laboratory refrigerator for that matter, but they must be used if flammables will be stored in the refrigerator.

Explosion proof laboratory refrigerators and lab freezers are rated UL explosion-proof and are similar in design to the flammable storage units, but they also have all operating components sealed against entrance of explosive vapors. Electrical junction boxes are also sealed after connections are made. These units are approved for storage of volatile materials in areas with explosive atmospheres and are the most costly of all types. This type of refrigerator is only required when storing flammable materials in an area with an explosive atmosphere such as a solvent dispensing room. An explosion proof laboratory refrigerator has very limited use on campus and require special hazardous location wiring rather than simple cord and plug connections.

Recently, my fridge broke down and my freezer is leaking on all sides already. I figured it would be a good idea to replace them both with a genuine American style fridge freezer combination. This is also the place where you need it, because you don’t want to be bending at the knees every single time you want to get something from your fridge. The fully stainless steel body makes it a solid and sturdy American fridge freezer that will last you at least two decades.

There are 4 tempered glass shelves in this fridge. All of them also have spill guards. The door has no less than 5 balconies, an egg tray and a dairy compartment. There are two crisper drawers that are humidity controlled. These drawers will keep your fruit and vegetables in optimum condition. You can also store fish or meat in the chef’s pantry draw. This pantry draw has a zero degree option. Then there is the frost free freezer which has 4 door balconies, 2 of which are tilting. It also has wire baskets so you can freeze your food quicker and more efficient.

This American fridge freezer has an LCD controlled dispenser, which you can use to make chilled, filtered water or cubed ice on tap. My kids love having ice cubes on demand! Other features that are worth mentioning are the auto defrost feature in the freezer and the relatively low energy usage. Naturally, this fridge does an excellent job at preserving food and keeping my favorite beverages cold as ice! I recommend the Maytag SOV628ZB to anyone that has the space to place this.

This information applies specifically to the Samsung RS21 range of Fridge Freezers. These are the most popular of the Samsung range of Side-by-Side fridge freezers currently in use in the UK today.

The RS21 range of models have a common fault symptom affecting the fridge section only. If, like many other owners of this model, you are finding that the fridge is getting too warm, just follow these simple directions and within seconds you will know the cause of this fault.

All models of Samsung Fridge Freezers including the RS21 range, have a clever self diagnosis facility built into the control module of each appliance. This self diagnosis facility is easily accessed by making use of the control panel on the front of the freezer door. This panel consists of four buttons and two separate digital temperature displays (one showing the temperature of the freezer compartment and the other showing the temperature of the fridge compartment).

Press the two top buttons of the control panel, holding them both down together for eight seconds. After the eight seconds, you will hear a regular ‘pinging’ sound. Keep holding the two buttons for one more second, and then release both buttons.

Now look carefully at the digital fridge temperature display (the right-hand pair of numbers) which is immediately below the two buttons that were being pressed. If there is a fault with the fridge section, you will see that one of the lines (that would normally make up the number on the display) is flashing. As an example of this, if the lowest horizontal one is flashing, it is indicating that the fridge fan motor has failed.

The fault mentioned above is probably the most common one that occurs, and the fault can be easily and safely repaired yourself without the need of an engineer. Spare parts for these Samsung models are available at reasonable prices. If you find that a different line is flashing on the digital temperature display, it will mean that there is a different cause of the fault.

If instead the freezer is faulty, one of lines of the digital temperature display for the freezer (the left-hand pair of numbers) will be flashing. Again, each specific line of the freezer digital temperature display represents a different freezer fault.

Please note that whenever the fridge freezer has been unplugged from the electrical power supply, the self diagnosis information, discussed above, will be deleted. Don’t worry though, just plug it in again and wait for the fault to show itself again. This usually happens within about twelve hours.

Whenever you do this test, after a short time (about thirty seconds) the control panel will automatically come out of this self diagnosis mode and go back to the normal operation mode.

For the most part, I think that spells can be a valuable way to “act” out your anger, resentment, bitterness or jealousy. The very act of doing a spell can make a person who feels powerless or victimized, feel at least briefly, for at time that they are somehow in control of the situation again. I have found the following “freezer” spells to be quite satisfying to do, if you find yourself somehow dumped, oppressed or just plain wishing for some kind of psychological torture to stop. I am not completely sure if these spells or not, but when someone does me wrong, the first thing that pops into mind is the frosty insides of my refrigerator.

I love these spells because they fall under the category of corny spells, trailer trash wiccanary and because they originate from such an emotional, passionate and old style of witchcraft. Yet at the same time they are very modern because they make use of the fridge. Technically too, they fall under the category of black magic because they are revenge spells, and represent the desire to control another person.

Being somewhat of a collector and connoisseur of corny spells, trailer trash wiccanary and any ritual that allows you to “act out your feelings” without necessarily hurting anyone, I thought I’d share them with you because they are a few of my favourites. Some of them have been sourced from Lexa Rosean, author of the Supermarket Sorceress who is a master of Kitchen Witchery. Still I think the important thing about a freezer spell is to start with the basics and then make it your own. I know one natural witch, (a famous Canadian singer in fact) who knows nothing about freezer spells, yet every time she gets mad at someone, she writes their name on a little piece of paper, twists it up and throws it in the freezer to “make it stop!” I discovered this one day when I was groping through her freezer for some ice cream and a flutter of little pieces of paper fell out to the floor. When I asked her about it, she told me her intuition had told her to put the people “on ice.”

The essence of a freezer spell is about time. The idea is to stop something in its tracks. Freezer spells also fall into the category of binding spells, as often their purpose is to paralyse an offender. They are used for protection, but mainly for REVENGE! Here are a few of my favourites.

THE BASIC ICE CUBE TRAY SPELL: This is all-purpose and what I like about it is that you can use magical ingredients to sweeten or sour the mix before you chuck it in the freezer. Basically, you take twelve small pieces of paper and write down the names twelve people or situations who have not been very nice to you or who have irked you or done you wrong. Think of twelve people who have been hostile to you, or who have a bad attitude towards you or who have behaved as obstacles to what you want in your life or career. Now stick these twelve pieces of paper in the ice cube tray compartments and add a little sugar, or honey to sweeten up their attitude towards you.

You could also add a few other things as well if you wanted – a little dill or parsley powder for improved communication, orange water for joy or rose water to increase loving vibrations. Then you fill the rest of the tray with water and stick in the freezer. I like this spell because it is relatively innocent and is persuading others to think of you kindly and not to harm you. A more vengeful version of this spell would be to add substances like vinegar (to sour their experiences) cigarette ashes (to cause depression) or horseradish (to cause arguments.)

If your resentment is directed towards a particular individual, perhaps a male who has dumped you for some one else you might consider doing this IMPOTENCE spell. While shopping for the cucumber at your local vegetable store, try and find one that resembles your ex-partner’s actual member when it is erect. At the very least this will get you giggling. Then carve his name and his birth-date into the flesh of the cucumber and throw it into the freezer. It will start to go soft and wither after a few weeks, and while this happens, imagine him and the sweet young thing that he betrayed you having conversations like “I swear this has never happened to me before.” “It’s ok. I understand.”
