Automatic Pool Cleaner Reviews

[ad_1]

The purpose of this review is to compare two similar pool cleaners. I would like to start with the Baracuda and Kreepy Krauly. The brands mentioned come in several different models and are of the suction type pool cleaners.

I have been in the pool service business for 30 years. I personally own 60 pool cleaners. I know what you are thinking, why would I own so many cleaners? Well it is like this, I place the cleaner in my customer’s pool to keep the pool as clean as possible. When I arrive to service the pool there is less work and I can service more pools in any given day. So as you can see I have a lot of experience with pool cleaners.

Now back to the review, the Baracuda and Kreepy, both work by being connected to the skimmer or a dedicated line. The best thing about them is that they only have one moving part so if anything breaks it is usually the part that moves.

The Kreepy uses a flapper or hammer as its moving part. When suction is applied the flapper starts moving back and forth in a chamber. The hammer action propels the Kreepy forward. It does make some noise as the flapper moves back and forth. The suction also vacuums up the dirt and small leaves.

The Baracuda has a diaphragm, as the water passes through the diaphragm it expands and contracts. This is what causes the cleaner to move across the bottom of the pool. The diaphragm makes no noise as it works which is something to be considered. The suction also vacuums up the dirt and small leaves as the sweep moves across the pool.

Having one part makes the two cleaners cheap to operate. Although the rubber disk and foot pad will at some point wear out. These are great cleaners if you understand they are not a perfect solution, one must still perform some maintenance on the pool.

Some of the problems with these cleaners is they can get stuck. You have to work with them to solve the problem. Some of the solutions are shorting the hose or weights can be added to the hose. One problem with the Kreepy is it can get stuck on the antivortex drains that are on the bottom of in ground pools. They do make a device that can be placed around the drain and the Kreepy passes over it with out any problems. The Baracuda can become stuck on the drain but this seldom happens.

The best solution for these problems is a steering device that hooks into the automatic pool cleaner hose. The name of the device is called the Twister. This is a great little device that rotates and turns the automatic pool cleaner in different directions. This helps the cleaner to become free if stuck.

The Twister is powered by the constant flow of water through the pool cleaner hose. A paddle wheel spins inside the Twister and transfers drive to the pool hose, counter-rotating the hose about 3 times per hour.

If you are looking for an inexpensive way to purchase a pool cleaner, then buy the Baracuda Wahoo. This is a very low priced automatic pool cleaner. In fact it is meant for above ground pools but can be used with in ground pools. I have put it in several in ground pools that have a lot of leaves and dirt and it does a great job. In fact I have several that have worked trouble free for over a year. There is one draw back if the manufacturer finds out that it is used for an in ground pool the warranty is void. Like I said I have had no problems with any of the cleaners. The Wahoo and Twister make a great cleaning system and for the money they cannot be beat. For the price the Baracuda and Kreepy are excellent cleaners and should be placed on your list of possible buys.

Electronic Air Cleaners – The 5 Major Types

[ad_1]

Electronic air cleaners are an important addition to any home or office today. With indoor air pollution being up to five times greater than that of outdoor air, many respiratory health issues are on the rise. Indoor air pollution is rapidly becoming a major problem in our country. The ironic part is that people complain about the outdoor air pollution stating they are unable to go outside because of the poor quality air, when the air outside may actually be cleaner.

To help clean up the air pollution in your home or office there are five major types of electronic air cleaners on the market today. These types are the HEPA air filter, air ionizer, germicidal UV lamp, activated carbon air filter, and the ozone generator. Several different air purifier models do incorporate a number of these different technologies in their units. The following is a general description and function of the five major types of electronic air cleaners.

HEPA Air Filters – this electronic air cleaner is one of the best available on the market for filtering particles as small as 0.3 microns. HEPA filters remove dust, pollen, dust mites, many bacteria, and many other allergens.

Disadvantages include that it does not remove pet dander, chemical fumes, organic and inorganic gases, cigarette smoke, odors, viruses, and germs. Also, any bacteria that are captured by the filter can breed and reproduce if not cleaned regularly.

Air Ionizers – this electronic air cleaner uses an electrically charged field to cause very small particles to clump together, such as cat dander, as they pass through the air cleaner. It is very good for eliminating viruses, bacteria, cigarette smoke, and chemical fumes.

Disadvantages are that it does not eliminate odors, kill germs or fungi, and remove all chemicals in the air.

Germicidal UV Lamp – this electronic air cleaner uses ultra violet light to kill germs, viruses, bacteria, and mold.

Disadvantages are that it has no effect on allergens, chemical fumes, gases, odors, and cigarette smoke.

Activated Carbon Air Filters – this electronic air cleaner works well for absorbing chemical fumes, gases, cigarette and cigar smoke, and odors.

Disadvantages are that it has no effect on micro-organisms, dust, and allergens.

Ozone Generators – this electronic air cleaner works very well for eliminating strong odors such as from pets, cigarette and cigar smoke, and some chemicals.

Disadvantages include irritated eyes and respiratory system if the purifier is in an enclosed room or if it is turned up too high, smell, and it has no effect on particles and chemicals.

Since each of these electronic air cleaners have strengths and weaknesses, the best option is to do your research, check many different sources and purchase an electronic air cleaning system that is multifunctional to meet your specific requirements.

How Does The Free CCleaner Compare With Other Registry Cleaners?

[ad_1]

CCleaner, a registry repair tool that comes in both a free and a paid version, created by the Piriform company, is known for being a blazingly fast registry cleaner. In fact, we’ve timed it on our 3 Ghz 32-bit Pentium 4 computer, and it finished a registry scan in just under 15 seconds. It only picked up one error. Our first question was: How thorough a scan was that?

Other registry cleaners that we’ve run on our computer have taken anywhere from a minute or more (many in the two to four minute range) to more than six or eight minutes, and in some cases up to 14 minutes. Our natural curiosity wonders how a scan that only lasts for 15 seconds can possibly be as thorough as a two or four or six minute scan.

Obviously, CCleaner doesn’t scan as many files as these other cleaners. How can it in fifteen seconds? And our results have born out these findings. Other cleaners, like RegCure, have ended up picking up more errors and empty entries in their scans than CCleaner. RegCure picked up eighty-six errors on the same machine in which CCleaner only picked up one. But then that’s attributable to the variation in the search algorithm used. Each utility has its own definition of parameters for choosing what it ranks as an error in the registry. Some, choose to error on the side of caution, and therefore pick up fewer errors.

While we like the free version of CCleaner, we just can’t get over the fact that it only picks up a fraction of the errors that other utilities pick up. And it does this on a regular basis. What counts, though, is the fact that your registry hasn’t been damaged by the cleaning, and you’re still able to use it without having to restore the backup of the old registry. In other words, it doesn’t disable the use of the computer.

One of CCleaner’s main selling features is that it can do more than just clean the registry. It comes with a system cleaning function (to clean up old and unused system files and logs), a Tools function (with tools to uninstall programs, manage your system’s start-up menu, find a missing file, restore the system to an earlier date, and a drive wiper), and an Options tab (that allows you to manage cookies, an include/exclude function for files to be cleaned), and an Advanced settings tab (which, among other things, allows you to restore the default settings as well as nine other items).

While we cannot give CCleaner a one-hundred percent recommendation with regard to its registry cleaning ability, we can say that it may be a useful program to have with regard to its other capabilities if you don’t already use another program that will easily access these other maintenance options.

In the final analysis, all we can say is that CCleaner may be a program you might want to consider having around as an additional registry repair tool. It’s main attractiveness, for us and perhaps you also, comes in the added feature functions it can perform. However, we don’t consider it to be powerful enough to be a frontline tool for keeping your registry unclogged. Use it as a backup or an adjunct, but not as your main registry utility.

Plumbing Contractors – What Do They Do?

[ad_1]

A plumbing contractor has many jobs that they do, including installing, maintaining, and replacing the system of pipes in a home or business. They are also the ones that do troubleshooting to find out what the problem is. In addition to working in homes and businesses they may also work in the industrial section. Some work in all three. A plumbing contractor can be self-employed and work alone or have employees working for them.

Plumbing contractor specializations

• Maintenance-they have a yearly contract with the proprietors of multi-unit structures like apartments, hotels, condominiums, or motels. When they have plumbing problems they call the contractor to take care of them.

• Work on new construction-some just work on new construction projects installing the new plumbing to all areas of the new business or home

• Remodeling and retrofitting-in this field the plumbing contractor will be the one to call to replace or upgrade the plumbing systems to bring it up to code or to increase the efficiency of the system.

Homeowner services

A plumbing contractor who does work for residences will generally be contacted by the homeowner over the phone and set up an appointment for them to come to home, which could be in a few days unless it is an emergency. When they come to the home they will diagnose the problem and give an estimate of the time and cost to take care of the problem. Many plumbing contractors will have a set fee to come to the house to diagnose the problem. Some may even charge mileage. If it is a common problem like a garbage disposal that is clogged, the contractor can give the homeowner an estimate of the cost and time to fix the problem over the phone. The contractor will give the homeowner a written estimate of the cost for repairs or replacement. If the homeowner agrees to the charges they will sign the written estimate so the work can be done. On the estimate it will include charges for parts, labor, and any other charges like mileage along with what the plumbing contractor is doing. Once the written estimate is signed the contractor will get all the tools and parts that are needed for the job and fix the problems..

The contractor is required to make sure that their contractor’s license is up-to-date along with his bond documents and insurance. Being self-employed they will have to keep all their records and files for tax purposes. Some plumbing jobs may also require special certifications in order for them to do these jobs. They also have to keep up with the building codes and any changes. To become a plumbing contractor some take apprenticeship programs.

Air Duct Cleaning Improves Indoor Air Quality Dramatically!

[ad_1]

Air duct cleaning and vent cleaning are two maintenance issues that are usually “out of sight, out of mind”. Normally, you take for granted the air you breathe in your home or office, assuming there is nothing amiss. Then you start sneezing; your eyes begin to water; you develop a cough and you can’t figure out why. Then your cough worsens to one of those hacking smokers’ coughs, and you don’t even smoke. Your sneezing becomes constant and your eyes begin to itch. You look for culprits all over your home and office and can’t find any. You pitch your flowers and plants, and then decide the cat or dog may be to blame. Before you throw out your plants and cast off your pets to the local animal shelter, have your ducts and vents professionally cleaned. It’s as simple as that.

These days, the air we breathe is not as clean as it should be. It’s not only outdoor pollution causing difficulties, but indoors as well. Even in today’s modern homes and office buildings, the most high-tech ventilation systems are worthless if they are not properly cleaned and maintained. We can have humidifiers and air purifiers installed in these systems, but with constant use, they will not function properly unless they are cleaned periodically. Only professional duct cleaners have the capabilities to remove all the dirt and debris from these systems. Our equipment is built specifically to ensure that all the pet dander, dust mites and allergens floating around and making you miserable, can be removed so you can breathe freely and easily.

Once you have all the dirt and debris removed from your ducts and vents, you notice almost immediately how much cleaner the air in your home or office is. There will be less dust settling on furniture and not as many allergens in the air to make you sneeze or cough. Once you get your ducts and vents cleaned regularly, you’ll forget those itchy, watery eyes and fall in love with your pets, flowers and plants again. Something as simple as having your vents cleaned can make a huge difference in your quality of life, and have a significant impact on your productivity. Remember to have your vents cleaned at least twice a year, and don’t forget about keeping your dryer vent and furnace clean all year round. Once you see the difference air duct cleaning and vent cleaning makes in your home or office, you’ll wonder why you never had it done before. Breathing clean, healthy air has never been so easy.

Five Reasons to Schedule an Air Duct Cleaning Appointment

[ad_1]

Many homeowners know the importance of maintaining their home. They repaint the siding, repair broken appliances, and keep the indoors clear of dust and debris. However, most homeowners do not pay attention to the parts of their home that they cannot see. Air duct cleaning is one of the most commonly neglected aspects of home maintenance, but having the service performed at least once per year has many benefits.

Gets Rid of Strange and Stale Smells

The inside of a home is full of interesting scents. Housework products, pet odors, and even food preparation can affect the smell of the home. Since air is circulated through the ducts, these smells often get trapped in the buildup of debris. Any time the HVAC system kicks on, the debris is disturbed and in turn sends the stale scents out into the room. Routine maintenance and care will help reduce buildup and keep musty smells to a minimum.

Makes the HVAC More Effective

The more dust and grime inside the system, the more obstacles the HVAC’s flow encounters. Significant amounts of buildup can block the flow of the entire system, making it harder to maintain an ideal temperature in the home. Clearing debris allows the HVAC system to flow freely from room to room. A dirty system often leads to higher electric bills. Regular cleaning may end up saving homeowners money on a monthly basis.

Clears Out Mold

Moisture buildup is a common problem for many homes with a central HVAC system. When moisture collects in the ductwork, it sets up the perfect environment for mold growth. Routine cleaning will keep mold spores from settling into the system and may improve the quality of the interior of the home.

Reduces Risk of Allergens

Any homeowner suffering from allergies, asthma, or respiratory conditions knows the importance of reducing allergens inside the home. Any time the HVAC turns on, the air is exposed to anything collecting inside the ducts, and allergens like pollen, pet dander, mold spores, and even mildew can all lead to an increase in sneezing fits, runny noses, and eye irritation. Regular air duct cleaning will take care of allergen buildup, so the HVAC maintains a clean, temperature-controlled home.

Makes Dusting Easy

Any time the HVAC turns on, loose dust and debris inside the ducts go flying. This debris then settles on furniture, gets embedded in carpet and upholstery, and makes keeping a home tidy difficult at best. Professional air duct cleaning may reduce the amount of dusting needed to keep a home looking tidy and spotless.

Keeping a home in good condition requires more than simply repairing easy-to-spot damage-homeowners must maintain the unseen parts of the home. Hire a professional who is experienced in HVAC work to ensure that the system can operate at its best. Schedule an appointment and see the difference it can make.

Overview of Kitchen Deep Cleaning and Its Importance for Maintaining Kitchen Hygiene

[ad_1]

Deep kitchen cleaning involves cleaning of all areas of a commercial kitchen, including the ceiling, floors, equipment, preparation tables and walls. The specific focus of this type of kitchen cleaning is to reach out to areas that are out of reach during regular maintenance drills. Dirt and grease accumulate in areas around the refrigerators and under the cooking ranges. The deep cleaning procedure starts with the high level walls and ceiling, but all the difficult to reach areas are reached gradually.

A comprehensive commercial exhaust cleaning company which follows the specifications of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) can be entrusted to complete this task. The deep cleaning of these kitchens involves a detailed approach. All the equipment in the kitchen is stripped down, including grills and fryers. The next step is cleaning them to bare metal. When the floor is cleaned, all the equipment is replaced to the original position.

The kitchen deep cleaning process

Kitchen deep cleaning services involve standard techniques for cleaning the exhaust system. This involves cleaning of the exhaust hood, horizontal or vertical ductwork and exhaust fans. This type of cleaning is compliant with fire code requirements and guarantees protection from the threat of exhaust system fires. Before the cleaning of the exhaust system, all kitchen sections are draped with new plastic. After this, a plastic funnel is placed below the hood in order to drain away the dirt, grease and other kind of unwanted particle accumulation.

In the comprehensive method mentioned above, the grease buildup in the system is prevented from going to the kitchen drains. In a detailed cleaning process, a combination of scrubbing, chemical degreasing and power washing is used to get rid of the grease and accumulated dirt. After the cleaning is complete, your exhaust hood is polished and filters are reinstalled. The last step in the detailed cleaning process is the removal of plastic draping, followed then by the wiping and mopping of kitchen floors.

Deep cleaning is important for kitchen hygiene

Maintaining kitchen hygiene is important not only from the point of view of your employees’ health, but also for preventing fires. Moreover, your kitchen needs to be compliant with the health and safety standards set by various regulatory agencies, such as the NFPA. You do not want to receive a notice from a regulatory body, do you? Moreover, failing to maintain hygiene invites pests.

Only deep cleaning of the kitchen can limit the risks associated with a lack of hygiene to a minimum. Even in the most regularly maintained kitchens, areas such as under the oven and behind fridges can get ignored. That is why most commercial kitchen owners are required by law to subject commercial kitchens to deep cleaning.

How To Buy Vacuum Cleaners Online

[ad_1]

Buying vacuum cleaners online involves a lot of risk. Household cleaning machines like vacuums should be bought personally from a store so you can make the necessary inspection. If this is your first time buying a new vacuum machine, you should make fewer buying mistakes by buying it personally from the store.

But if you really have no choice but to buy it online, here are some tips on how you can land on an ideal vacuum cleaner:

1. Buy only the top-selling vacuum brands in the market.

It is probably best if you stay away from the cheap vacuum machines in the market. Since you can’t get a closer look to its whole construction, you don’t know if it is sturdy or durable. If you stick to the top-selling brands like Miele, SEBO or Electrolux, you are less likely to commit buying errors.

These brands have already built their reputation when it comes to engineering some of the most durable and most powerful cleaning machines out in the market. You can buy it directly from their online stores or buy from reputable vacuum distributors.

2. When buying from distributors, they should give you a decent warranty.

Make sure the warranty they are offering is the same as the warranty offered by physical stores or by the manufacturing company. If not, look elsewhere. It is imperative that you get the most out of the warranty they are giving you.

3. Find out what is included in the package.

Ask for individual photos of the attachments and parts that are included. Find out if the package is similar to the package offered by the manufacturing company. At the very least, the distributor should give you a crevice tool and extension tube.

4. Know more about the features of the cleaning machine.

Compare prices based on features. Find out how much energy it can consume in one cleaning cycle. Also find out how good its suction system is. It should have a reliable and washable HEPA or high efficiency particular air filtration system.

5. Know more about the delivery policy.

Make sure that they deliver your vacuum cleaner on time. The product has to be in good condition as well. The attachments and the other items that they have promised to include should be there as well. Make sure you check the product and find damages before using it. Also get to know the return policy of the store.
