Selecting a Home Watch Service – Do They Have Professional Tools?

[ad_1]

When you make the smart choice to hire a professional home watch service, interviewing each one is part of your due diligence. The decision to turn over an emotionally and financially valuable property requires careful research. As you conduct the interview of each prospective service, ask about their tools. Tools are an indicator of their professionalism and commitment to the business.

You may ask, “Who needs tools to watch a house?” Let’s look closer at this question and see if you come to the same conclusion.

While you reside in the property, you make several assumptions about the house’s systems. Many of these are based on being there for months at a time and being in the home for hours on end. If you feel cold or hot, you go to the thermostat and make an adjustment. If that doesn’t work, you call an air conditioning company. If the freezer appears cold, you don’t worry. When it isn’t cold, you call a repairman. If you look up one day and see a spot on the ceiling, you assume there is a leak and call a roofer or perhaps crawl around in the attic to look for a leak. If you hear a toilet running, you shake the handle. If that doesn’t work you may call a plumber or handyman. You know the pool has a leak because you look at it every day. In each case, your experience from living in the property is what allows you to see what is happening and take corrective action.

A home watch service, on the other hand, is only in the house for an hour or less on most visits. Whether you pay for weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly inspections, they must make decisions based on this short period of time. They do not have the luxury of living on the premises and watching for items to fail. They should be pro-active in monitoring the home’s systems, comparing the results to previous history, and taking corrective action. What allows them to do this? Professional grade tools are the key.

As a minimum, your service person should carry an instantaneous digital temperature sensor with a high degree of accuracy, a humidity sensor with plus or minus 2% accuracy, specialized lighting for quickly identifying flaws in the ceiling, tools to find toilet leaks, a camera to record problems, a moisture meter, and other similar equipment. The best of the best will even have special ‘smoke’ to check the fire alarms, a specialized tool to check the microwave, a leak check system for the pool, and may have an infra-red camera to identify problems. The list of tools is not nearly as important as recognizing that they are a necessary part of watching a property.

On every visit, the service should be inspecting and recording such items as the temperature of the fridge and freezer, the temperature at the vents for air conditioners and heaters, examining every corner of the ceilings, closets and floors, for leaks with a high-powered light, recording the inside temperature and humidity, and similar tasks. This is their one time, and it is short compared to living in the property, for identifying problems before they become a huge issue. A mere walk through, just looking for things, is of no value unless it employs professional grade tools and the information is recorded.

When you interview for a professional to watch your home, ask to see what tools they have. If their reaction is shock, and they bring out an old pair of pliers, send them on their way. Let someone else deal with the problems that will happen from this less than prepared service.

Easy Meal Planning

[ad_1]

Do you feel that planning menus takes too much time or is too complicated? I think people that don’t take the time to make out a meal plan end up causing themselves lots of stress and are more tempted to eat out and spend more money. Just a few minutes of your time can save you hours in the long run. Here’s how to plan a menu without much effort. The key to easy meal planning is all in the recipe.

1. List meals your family likes – Each person should be able to come up with at least a few favorites. If they can’t think of any, just start listing some meals you know they don’t like and they will probably quickly think of some they would rather eat. Or you can just keep a running list of meals your family likes as they come to you.

2. Use the grocery store – Look around the frozen food section in the grocery store to get ideas for meals. It’s tempting to buy all the prepared box meals and frozen meals, but they are loaded with preservatives, sodium and many other things that you don’t want to be putting into your body. Just use this grocery trip for collecting ideas.

3. Create a recipe book – Get a 3 ring binder and a bunch of sheet protectors and extra paper. Go through your recipe file and place your favorites in the sheet protectors. If you have recipe cards, just tape a few of them to a sheet of paper and put them in your binder. This way you will have all your favorite recipes on hand for when you make your meal plan. You can put any other recipes in another file or throw them away. Your recipe book should only contain recipes that you use often that you enjoy cooking and eating.

Then take 10-15 minutes to write out 10-15 meals that you want to fix. Be sure to write down any ingredients you don’t have on hand for those meals. Take that list to the grocery store and then you have all the ingredients you need to make those 10-15 meals. Each day you can choose a meal from your list and when they are all crossed off it is time to go grocery shopping again.

Photosynthesis – Food Chain

[ad_1]

What do plants and animals need to grow?

Almost all plants and animals need air, water, light, and nutrition to grow. Green plants use a complicated chemical process, called photosynthesis, to create energy for survival and growth. Since plants create their own energy, they are the first link in the food chain. Animals need to drink water and eat plants or other animals to get energy. Therefore, they are present at the next step in the food chain. There are some animals, like camels, that can survive for days without drinking water. Since they live in deserts with very little water, they have adapted to the special conditions of their habitat.

How do plants get food?

Unlike animals, plants produce their own food and except for a few carnivorous plants, do not eat other organisms. Green plants use water, nutrients, and a green matter in their leaves called ‘chlorophyll’ to produce their food. Normally water and nutrients are absorbed from the ground through their roots. Some plants, however, have developed other methods for obtaining water and nutrients. Many plants make funnel-shaped ‘containers’ with their leaves to catch water. Carnivorous plants use their digestive juices to convert the insects, caught in their folding or sticky traps, into nutrients.

What happens when we keep plants in the dark?

In the absence of light, plants shed their leaves and die, leaving only their roots and stems. Plants grow slowly at night and in winters. Most animals are also dependent on light, although some have adapted to their dark habitats. For example, the moles living below the ground are almost blind because they do not need their eyes underground. We humans also need sunlight to help produce vitamin D in our skin, which in turn is needed for building bones. We will also lose time if it is pitch dark around us for very long.

What is photosynthesis?

The chloroplast inside the green leaves of plants is the ‘workshop’ where photosynthesis takes place. Water is supplied to the leaves by the roots, and carbon dioxide is absorbed from the air through tiny pores on the lower side of the leaf. Both these are broken down into the elements hydrogen, carbon, and oxygen with the help of chlorophyll and sunlight. Plants build ‘glucose’ (grape sugar) from these elements and oxygen is released in the atmosphere as a by-product. Photosynthesis has been the source of oxygen in the air since the origin of life on the Earth.

How do camels survive long voyages in the desert?

Camels can manage for about two weeks without drinking water because they can store up to 150 litres of water in their bodies. Fat is also stored in their humps and this store of energy can sustain them for about 30 days without food. Furthermore, unlike most other mammals, camels can change their body temperature. At night they lower their body temperature considerably so that during the day the body warms slowly and they do not sweat much. Consequently, there is no loss of fluids early in the day.

What is the food chain?

In nature, there are ‘producers’ that build the biological mass, and ‘consumers’ that eat. Producers are the plants, which grow and create energy with the help of photosynthesis. They are eaten by a consumer, and that consumer is often eaten by another consumer. This chain of consumers is called the ‘food chain’. A short food chain is grass-cow-man. A longer one is algae-water flea-herring-seal-polar bear: A water flea eats algae, a herring eats many water fleas, a seal eats herrings, and the polar bear eats the seal. Ultimately, a lot of algae are needed to feed a polar bear. When the polar bear dies, its meat is either eaten by other animals or it is decomposed into nutrients by bacteria. These nutrients are again used by the algae to create energy, and thus the food chain gets completed.

Choosing Commercial Refrigeration Equipment

[ad_1]

There are many commercial industries that rely on refrigeration equipment to keep products or supplies in optimum condition. For instance companies working within the food industry need to store perishable products at set temperatures.

The pharmaceutical industries also have a need for refrigerated containers, in order to keep certain vaccines and medicines at their required temperature. This temperature needs to be accurately monitored and maintained using specialist equipment.

There are many different types of commercial refrigeration on the market. This cold storage equipment can be bought or hired; depending on how long it will be needed for and whether the customer wants to own their equipment.

New commercial refrigeration equipment may be the right solution for many. However, leased cold storage containers are kept to the highest standard and often come with the added benefit of a maintenance contract, so the customer can rest assured their equipment remains in good working order.

Temperature controlled containers come in all shapes and sizes. There are containers that are designed to stay in one place, as well as portable cold storage that can be transported to wherever needed.

For example there are mobile bar units available that are designed for short-term hire at events or launches and can be used to facilitate the promotion of a new chilled drink for instance. At the other end of the scale there are mega cold storage units that are often designed to stay in one place.

Mega cold storage equipment is commonly required for suppliers of large amounts of produce, such as the meat industry. With mega cold storage units the temperature can vary between -35c to + 35c. This large-scale equipment is most often used for chilling and freezing food items.

Commerical refrigeration units can contain remote temperature monitoring, in order to ensure that products being stored remain at the right temperature. This can be installed in both static and portable containers.

With Remote Euroscan Temperature monitoring you can access data through any internet connection. The technology also enables reporting functionality and centralised data archiving. Reports can be customised to specific requirements.

As well as refrigerated equipment, blast freezers can also be supplied for commercial refrigeration. These are available in a range of different sizes and capacities. They are sometimes housed in shipping containers, so can be transported if needed.

Container refrigeration units can also be stored outside, next to a building. They are ideal for blast freezing of fish, meat and pastry products or complete ready meals.

So if you are looking for commercial refrigeration on a mega or more portable scale, there are lots of options to choose from to ensure your supplies and produce are kept at the optimum temperature.

8 Key Training Principles For Fitness and Sports Training

[ad_1]

The 8 Training Principles are research-based guidelines that can help you accelerate your training progress and optimize your results. Knowing how to apply these principles gives you an educated basis on which you can make informed decisions about designing your fitness or sports training program. The principles can also help you evaluate the merits of fitness equipment and personal training services.

All of the principles complement each other. For best results, they should be applied in concert throughout every phase of training.

1. Principle of Specificity suggests that your body will make adjustments according to the type of training you perform and in the very same muscles that you exercise. How you train determines what you get.

This principle guides you in designing your fitness training program. If your goal is to improve your overall level of fitness, you would devise a well-rounded program that builds both endurance and overall body strength. If you want to build the size of your biceps, you would increase weight loads on bicep curls and related exercises.

2. The Principle of Overload implies that you must continually increase training loads as your body adapts over time. Because your body builds and adjusts to your existing training regimen, you must gradually and systematically increase your work load for continued improvement.

A generally accepted guideline for weight training is to increase resistance not more than 10% per week. You can also use percentages of your maximum or estimated maximum level of performance and work out within a target training zone of about 60-85% of maximum. As your maximum performance improves, your training loads will increase, as well.

3. The Principle of Recovery assets that you must get adequate rest between workouts in order to recuperate. How much rest you need depends upon your training program, level of fitness, diet, and other factors.

Generally, if you perform a total body weight workout three days per week, rest at least 48 hours between sessions. You can perform cardio more frequently and on successive days of the week.

Over time, too little recovery can result in signs of overtraining. Excessively long periods of recovery time can result in a detraining effect.

4. The Principle of Reversibility refers to the loss of fitness that results after you stop training. In time, you will revert back to your pre-training condition. The biological principle of use and disuse underlies this principle. Simply stated, If you don’t use it, you lose it.

While adequate recovery time is essential, taking long breaks results in detraining effects that may be noticeable within a few weeks. Significant levels of fitness are lost over longer periods. Only about 10% of strength is lost 8 weeks after training stops, but 30-40% of endurance is lost in the same time period.

The Principle of Reversibility does not apply to skills. The effects of stopping practice of motor skills, such as weight training exercises and sport skills, are very different. Coordination appears to store in long-term motor memory and remains nearly perfect for decades. A skill once learned is never forgotten.

5. The Principle of Variation implies that you should consistently change aspects of your workouts. Training variations should always occur within ranges that are aligned with your training directions and goals. Varying exercises, sets, reps, intensity, volume, and duration, for example, prevents boredom and promotes more consistent improvement over time. A well-planned training program set up in phases offers built-in variety to workouts, and also prevents overtraining.

6. The Principle of Transfer suggests that workout activities can improve the performance of other skills with common elements, such as sport skills, work tasks, or other exercises. For example, performing explosive squats can improve the vertical jump due to their common movement qualities. But dead lifting would not transfer well to marathon swimming due to their very dissimilar movement qualities.

7. The Principle of Individualization suggests that fitness training programs should be adjusted for personal differences, such as abilities, skills, gender, experience, motivation, past injuries, and physical condition. While general principles and best practices are good guides, each person’s unique qualities must be part of the exercise equation. There is no one size fits all training program.

8. The Principle of Balance is a broad concept that operates at different levels of healthy living. It suggests that you must maintain the right mix of exercise, diet, and healthy behaviors. Falling out of balance may cause a variety of conditions (e.g., anemia, obesity) that affect health and fitness. In short, it suggests all things in moderation.

If you go to extremes to lose weight or build fitness too quickly, your body will soon respond. You could experience symptoms of overtraining until you achieve a healthy training balance that works for you.

For fitness training, balance also applies to muscles. If opposing muscles (e.g., hamstrings and quadriceps in the upper legs) are not strengthened in the right proportions, injuries can result. Muscle imbalances also contribute to tendinitis and postural deviations.

Keep these 8 Training Principles in mind as you design and carry out your fitness training program. They can help you make wise exercise decisions so you can achieve your goals more quickly with less wasted effort.

Top 4 Risks of IT Relocation

[ad_1]

IT relocation is one of the most difficult parts of the office move because there are so many opportunities for it to awry. Don’t make the same mistakes so many relocating businesses have made before. Check out the top risks of IT relocation below and start making smarter decision for your move!

Computers and laptops go missing. This happens more often than most companies realize, and frequently those laptops and computers have confidential information saved in their hard drives. Not knowing where this data is or what data is on what computer can be extremely damaging for a company. The first thing you absolutely need to do is inventory what files are on what computer and on what server. Knowing this will help you recover any lost data should a laptop or computer go missing.

Data loss occurs. Data loss can happen without laptops and computers going missing. It occurs most frequently because 75% of data back-ups fail, meaning when the servers and computers are assembled in the office space your data is not recovered. The data recovery system or back-up fails to operate correctly. To avoid this risk, hire an experienced IT relocator, not simply a maintenance IT worker. Have them back-up your system and run a test recovery of the data multiple times. You want to be sure that the data back-up will work when the servers and computers are set up in the new office space, so leave plenty of time to prepare and test!

To double-protect your company’s valuable data, you may even want to rent a back-up server which will be set up at another location and linked to your system in event of a data recovery failure. They key is, you want no downtime whatsoever when you finally move into your new office, and IT network issues often cause the biggest setbacks.

Severs and expensive equipment are damaged. Damage to your valuable equipment can happen in a number of ways. A traffic accident involving the moving van could occur, a server could be dropped by movers, a computer could be poorly packaged, etc. Make sure that you have a contingency plan in place for these kinds of accidents. Understand what data you absolutely need for your business to operate and create a realistic timeframe for recovery of this critical data. Once you have prioritized your data, your IT experts can come up with the best recovery plan for any damaged equipment.

Broken IT equipment is not reimbursed by the movers. Most movers operate under a minimal insurance and liability clause. Typically, a business will receive 60 cents per pound of the damaged good. That means your incredibly expensive server may only be reimbursed for three of four dollars-hardly any consolation. Make sure that you can work out a deal with the movers that you equipment will be insured in full and cut any further losses their reckless handling might cause.

IT relocation is fraught with possible mishaps. Know the risks and start preparing for your office move as early as possible. The sooner you start considering the options, the less likely any five of these moving disasters will occur.

Detailed Procedure of Slot Recovery

[ad_1]

The term slot recovery is of much significance for the operators of drilling the slot. This term is used to mean a process which involves removal of old and used conductor along with the inner strings of casing. They both are cemented to each other. They are to be removed safely and as quickly as possible. The task has to be completed within a short span of time. Multiple strings of casing that are cemented to each other are to be drilled so as to make a hole in them. Before the casing is laid down on the surface, they have to be cut down in to lengths that can be managed easily. In this process of drilling the casing, the important equipment used are drill presses. They are used to drill the casing from out side. In the first stage they have to be mounted on the outer surface of the casing. Then the drilling task has to be carried out. After drilling is done, the casing strings are pinned together. These multiple strings of the casing may be completely grouted to each other. They may not be grouted completely in some cases.

Once the process of drilling is completed, the drill presses are removed and then the pin is installed. As a part of slot recovery, these tasks are to be done in a step wise manner. The pin that is placed here is intended to grant the facility of lifting device. Though it is a temporary purpose, the pin has to be effective. These kinds of effective pins will serve best as lifting devices though they are used temporarily. The main purpose of cutting the length of casing is to facilitate the process of handling the equipment. In this process, even multiple strings of the casing are also cut down in length. This is an essential part of the process to be carried out, since cutting the casing of multiple strings makes the lifting equipment to handle the casing easily and efficiently. Equipment used for lifting purpose will handle the casing of even multiple strings only when they are cut down to shorter lengths that can be managed easily. In the first attempt only some of the old and used casing will be removed. When the process is conducted for second time, some more part of it will be removed. Like wise the process is to be repeated for many times till the expected results are got. Old and used casing is to be removed by many repetitions of the task and finally a stage is achieved where there is no old and used casing present. This makes the slot to get rid of old and used casing as well as makes sure that it is empty. The main intention of this process is to clear the slot. Now, the slot can be availed for drilling programs.

Now, after completing the process of slot recovery, operator can continue with his program of drilling, since the slot is made clear. In this process, many tools are to be used skillfully and efficiently.

Many Advantages of CNC Machining

[ad_1]

CNC Machining relies on computer technology to help control the actions of the machine tools. This significantly helps with work efficiency and simplifies a wide range of functions. This type of machinery is now featured in most industries, from the simple factory to the large-scale set up. Popular industries include those involved with wood, electrical discharge machining, metal fabrication and metal removing.

Here are a few of the benefits of using this type of hardware:

Low production costs

CNC machining is appreciated for speeding up and making the entire production process that much more efficient. A notable benefit is the ability to minimize waste of the raw materials being cut. Plus, these types of machines are mostly operated by a single person, which can help to lower the number of workers on the shop floor.

Greater automation

The process of using CNC Machining is mostly automated. It can be loaded with several types of tools and can automatically choose the right one to match the specific application. A standard NC machine can only be operated by the skilled engineers, but the computer assisted hardware is less dependent on human input, and easier to control by the least skilled person.

Increased efficiency

The highly efficient nature of CNC Machining makes it a practical choice for the factory involved in mass production. Once the computer has been input with the precise design requirements, the tool has the ability to produce the same result time after time. But, if a discrepancy or error is noticed in the product, the tool is easily stopped to make the required adjustments and avoid wasting too much raw material.

Plus, there is less likelihood of encountering operating issues from human error because most of the setup is automated and controlled by computerized programs.

Highly flexibility

The CNC Machining is highly flexible to work with because its commands are easily input using a specific computer program. Any changes in the operation are quick and easy to perform which is great for not only saving time, but also to keep manufacturing costs at a minimum.

Continuous operation

This machinery is designed and built to continuously operate and can be left running 24 hours a day. There is no need to switch off at the end of the working day, and will have no problem running throughout the night. With the proper ongoing maintenance, they have the ability to continue to run for years without much trouble.

How to Enjoy the Stress-Free Private Airport Transfer Services

[ad_1]

Booking the flight to your next travel destination is relatively straightforward, but there are also other things to consider such as the onward journey to your hotel. A private airport transfer service is likely to be the most stress-free option to complete your journey after arriving at the airport. Additionally, they will have drivers that know several routes to the chosen destination to minimise the risk of getting delayed in traffic.

Here are three things that can make your journey as stress-free as possible:

Book early

A private airport transfer service is best booked early to avoid disappointment. An early booking will increase the likelihood of securing the preferred type of vehicle and also match the best time slot. If things are left late, you may need to wait around in the airport or travel in a vehicle that isn’t precisely to your needs.

Check the vehicle options

The majority of companies offering this type of service will give the option to choose a preferred type of vehicle. For the couples or solo travellers, a saloon car is likely to give the desired space and comfort. However, a luxury minibus or an estate car is more practical for larger groups or small families.

Additionally, it is worth notifying the company if you have any unusual baggage requirements. Anything large or bulky may not fit in a regular family car, so it will be necessary to upgrade the vehicle size to match the luggage needs.

Also, there is the option to choose the high-end vehicle for the business event or if planning to have a corporate client collected. A popular type of car for the corporate travel is likely to include the Mercedes models.

Ask about extras

The range of services offered can vary with the many different companies. Some companies will be willing to offer a complete list of extras, while others can be quite limited. A few of the extras include text message notifications to say when the driver has arrived or booster seats for younger children. If you are able to organise the bespoke service you will enjoy the most relaxed and enjoyable experience.

Overall, the option to use a professional driver to get you to or from the airport will mean you will likely be more organised and able to get to your intended destination on time. Self driving to the airport can be stressful, but this feeling is virtually eliminated when able to ride in a comfortable and luxurious vehicle with no need to be concerned about the traffic or finding a space to park.
