Variable Intensity: The Road To Training Success!

[ad_1]

Hit the weights hard! You’ve gotten this advice over and over-it’s been drilled into your head. But even after putting in hour after hour at the gym you have little to show for your efforts. What the heck is wrong? “Is my form bad?” you ask. “Am I training hard enough?” “Am I training too hard?”

Unfortunately, this scenario is all too common. To determine what is wrong we have to look at all aspects of our training. How many sets are we doing for each muscle group? Which exercises are we using in our training? Are we overtraining? Or could it be that our muscles and central nervous system (CNS) have become used to all of the training we have been doing and now refuse to add even an ounce of new muscle to our physique?

The fact is our bodies are incredibly skillful at adapting to the training stimulus that we subject them to. This is because our ancestors hunted for their food and exhausted themselves physically to survive or they would have starved. While weight training we subject our bodies to a similar stress. So it goes without saying we are destined to hit a sticking point if we train the same way week in and week out. We need to change things up to continue to improve. One of the ways to do this is to modify the intensity of effort and volume of our training.

If your training is the high volume variety, try increasing the intensity and trimming the amount of sets. For example, if your arm routine consists of 15 sets each for biceps and triceps, stopping all sets 2 reps before failure, reduce the sets to 8 and end all sets 1 rep before failure. Do this for four weeks then change things up by ending all sets at failure using a set count of 2-3 per muscle group. This cyclical training changes the intensity of effort and volume of training to prevent the body from becoming acclimated to the current training demands. The best gains in muscle size and strength will come at the higher intensity phases because of the higher demands placed on the muscles.

The Formula For Successful Bodybuilding

The formula that is the basis of the strategy in this article states: The higher the intensity of effort the lower the volume. As a bodybuilder increases his/her intensity of effort through “To Failure Training” or HIT variables, the less sets are needed to maximize gains and prevent overtraining. Conversely the opposite is true, if the intensity is decreased the volume, or set count should be increased slightly.

Failure To Improve When Over-training Is Not The Culprit

If you haven’t been making the progress you feel you should be and have determined that over-training isn’t the culprit, there are a number of other reasons for the lack of results you’ve been experiencing. They are:

Age (can no longer improve; focus on maintenance or slow regression)

Genetics (reached a peak; can no longer improve in muscle size or strength)

Over-adaptation (mentally bored; lack of motivation; physically adapted to stimulus) Previous Demands (each set performed diminishes subsequent workout capacity) Insufficient Demands (lack of stimulus -i.e., intensity, sets, or frequency to cause a sufficient alarm reaction)

Pay attention to what your body tells you and keep a realistic set of goals. It could be that you have attained all of the muscle size and strength your body is capable of.

Wrong Selection of Training Routines

Many of us attempt to follow top champion bodybuilders’ routines because we feel since they have achieved much success in the sport by training using these routines we should use them too. The truth of the matter is many of these routines are not what the bodybuilder is actually using. They appear in articles meant to impress the reader with the bodybuilder and to further his career.

These bodybuilders are using chemical-enhancement, that is steroids, human growth hormone, insulin and other anabolic drugs. These drugs allow the champion to over train on a regular basis because they increase the body’s recuperative abilities and cause positive nitrogen balance, causing the muscles to rapidly grow. Unfortunately they also lead to many health problems such as heart disease, kidney failure and cancer, to name a few.

The ideal training routine is one which is designed around the present conditioning, the recuperative abilities and the goals of the bodybuilder. Remember to design it around the intensity principle outlined above.

Sample Variable Intensity Program For Arms

Phase 1

The first phase is similar to what is done by beginning bodybuilders. Emphasis is placed on form and the learning of proper exercise technique instead of heavy, intense training.

Complete the desired exercises using good form, stopping the set two reps before hitting failure (the point where no more reps are possible).

barbell curls-1×10

concentration curls-1×12

seated palms-facing pull-downs-1×12

standing triceps push-downs-1×12

standing triceps kickbacks-1×12

standing bar dips-1×12

Phase 2

The second phase increases the intensity of effort by ending all sets one rep before failure. We will keep the set count at three each.

machine curls-1×10

seated incline curls-1×12

seated palms-facing pull-downs-1×10

lying triceps extensions-1×10

seated triceps overhead extensions-1×12

close-grip bench presses-1×12

Phase 3

The third phase is where we take all sets to the point of muscular failure. Load the bar or weight machine with a weight that causes you to put all-out effort to complete the desired amount of reps. Don’t stop when you hit your rep count; attempt to grind out more reps. This causes you to overload your muscles and add weight every workout which will lead to additional muscle growth. Since we are increasing the level of intensity we will be reducing the set volume to two sets for both muscles.

concentration curls-1×12

bent over palms-facing barbell rows-1×10

angled-forward cable triceps extensions-1×12

seated machine triceps dips-1×8

Now that I’ve outlined all three phases of this HIT periodization schedule, begin to use it in your training by working with each phase for 3 weeks before progressing to the next one.

Now hit the iron!

Benefits of Installing an Energy Saving Device

[ad_1]

We are all beginning to realize how important it is to save energy, especially with the current economic climate. Today when it comes to saving energy there are certain devices you can install which can help you. Energy saving devices have many benefits and below we look at just what some of these are.

Benefit 1 – You are helping to reduce the use of fossil fuels that help to create energy which then runs different types of electrical equipment in the home. By reducing the amount of energy you use you are reducing how much fossil fuel needs to be burnt in order to create it. This in turn is beneficial to the environment as it helps to reduce your country’s carbon foot print.

Benefit 2 – The installation of such power saver devices is relatively easy to be done and you could if you wanted do it yourself. Normally all it needs is for you to turn off the mains power supply in your home before connecting them to the devices such as lights and air conditioners where you want to save power. With such systems you will be provided with full instructions with regards to how to install them.

Benefit 3 – After installation has taken place you will immediately begin to feel the effects of these energy savers. If you fit one to your air conditioning unit for example it can help to control the temperature and adjust the system automatically. Yet these systems don’t actually connect directly to the air conditioning circuitry.

Benefit 4 – Within each one there is a stable capacity so unlike other electrical equipment in your home they are not affected by fluctuations in the power supply. So of course this means that the chances of equipment to which they are connected being damaged by power surges are greatly reduced.

Benefit 5 – The biggest benefit of course is when you get your electricity bill in the coming months and years. By installing a power saver device in your home you could be reducing how much electricity you waste annually by as much as 28%. This in turn means that you are reducing your annual electricity bill by quite a considerable sum as well. In fact using such devices could end up reducing your annual utility bills by as much as 75 to 80%.

As you can see from above there are many benefits to be gained from installing an energy saving device in your home. As you will soon discover when you search online there are many different types to choose from. So it is worthwhile doing some research into each model before you make your final purchase.

Will a High Efficiency Air Conditioning System Pay for Itself?

[ad_1]

Home HVAC (Heating Ventilating Air Conditioning) systems in most climates will be a major user of energy. In warm climates it can account for 60% or more of your total electric bill. If your system is ten years old or older it is a prime candidate for an upgrade. Air Conditioning systems are rated by SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio). This is sort of like a cars MPG rating. The higher the number the more energy efficient and less power it will consume for the amount of cooling compared to a lower SEER rated system. A system 10 years old or older were likely rated 10 SEER or less when new. As they age they can lose efficiency due to compression loss and heat transfer restrictions like a dirty or damaged coil. If you have an older unit in need of repairs you might be tempted to spend the few hundred or few thousand dollars it may take to get it up and running rather than the thousands it would take to replace with a high efficiency system. Repairs can many times be the best alternative with a tight budget or in a case where you don’t plan to stay in the home long enough to get a ROI (return on investment) from the new system.

But in the long run it can cost more to repair an older unit then replacing. If you have an average 2,000 square foot home with a 4 ton air conditioning unit, it could cost somewhere around $5,000.00 to replace plus or minus a thousand or so depending on the grade of equipment and what all is involved with the installation. If this hypothetical system needed repairs in the typical $600-$1,000.00 range it might seem like you save around $4000.00 by repairing instead of replacing. But you have to factor in operating cost and future repair and maintenance to get a true cost comparison. If your system is starting to need repairs in that price range the chances are good that year after year it is going to need even more repairs as it ages. If you are adding refrigerant because of a leak and not repairing the leak you are guaranteed at least one, but probably several service calls a year to keep it cooling. Finding and repairing small pinhole leaks in the coil can cost a lot as well. Repairing coil leaks can be very difficult. When the coil starts to leak it is likely there are many small pinhole leaks in the tubing where the fin makes contact with the tubing. This is due to electrolysis caused by contact of two dissimilar metals and the presence of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) that have condensed onto the coil that contribute to the formation of these pinholes. Repairing them is a tricky process and can result in less than desired results. Repairing one leak can just open another one nearby. Even if you are successful the efficiency of the system can never be returned even to its original low 10 SEER rating much less improving it. Charging a leaking system to “get by” also just contributes to the cost of operating that system. You have the service costs plus the increased operating cost as the system losses refrigerant and become less and less efficient.

So let’s look at that $5,000.00 system verses maintaining your old system over a period of just five years. Up front we already know you will have an expense of about $1,000.00 to get the system even operating at a low efficiency level. So now we are down to $4,000.00. Now let’s say you average a very modest projected $350.00 in maintenance and service cost for years 2 to 5. Now that new system is costing you just $2,600.00. Most systems will have a 10 year parts warranty so even if something did fail at least the parts would be covered. The labor for repairs on the new system will be at least 1 year and up to 10 years can be added for around $500.00 on most systems.

We haven’t even talked about energy cost savings yet. According to operating cost comparison software using 0.11 cent a kilowatt hour and a modest increase in rates of 3% a year you would save $2,092.00 on air conditioning cost by upgrading to an Energy Star rated 14 SEER system from 10 SEER system. And this is assuming your a 10 SEER system is still operating at 10 SEER. I can tell it won’t be. Savings will vary.

According to the same cost comparison software, government studies have also shown an increase in home value of around $7,800.00 by making this upgrade. When we expand the time frame out to the expected average life span of the system to 20 years your savings is over $10,000 in operating costs.

So waiting till that old system completely fails to replace it can cost you much more in energy cost and comfort then replacing it now.

New Revelation – The Golden Age of the Christ Consciousness

[ad_1]

The word “Christ” has been used for many centuries by Christian religions to refer to the historical Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus did in actuality attain full Christ consciousness while on Earth and subsequently ascended to the spiritual heavens, becoming an Ascended Master in the process.

Yet as Jesus stated in the Bible, “what I can do, you can do also”. And as elsewhere stated in the Bible: “Let this mind be in you [the Christ mind] that was also in Christ Jesus”. So we can see from these two statements that Jesus came to set an example that the state of Christ consciousness was not only achievable and attainable for Jesus of Nazareth, but for all souls embodying on Earth.

The essence of the information I will impart to you now has been channeled by Ascended Masters of the Great White Brotherhood of Light, including the Ascended Masters Jesus, Mother Mary, and Maitreya.

There are two types of consciousness that presently exist on Earth. One is the Christ consciousness and the other is the anti-christ consciousness. The Christ consciousness is a state of mind of knowing you are one with all others – and that each soul is part of the One Body of God. From this Christ mind state, you see no separation between yourself and any other part of God – any other soul. You recognize the Divine God Light in each soul – regardless of their own limited state of mind and way of behaving – and you show love and compassion and tolerance to each and every part of God. Many people on Earth have attained some degree of Christhood and treat others with respect and kindness and compassion and tolerance.

The anti-christ consciousness is a state of mind of “believing” you are separate from all others and / or God; it is a belief that we are not parts of the One Body of God, and acting in a separatist way, that includes being arrogant to others, prejudiced to others, violence and disrespectful to others, feeling superior and elitist towards others, and judging and condemning others in thought, word, and action. The anti-christ consciousness is rife on planet Earth and is strongly present to some degree in most people on Earth.

To help you understand the relationship between the Christ mind and the mind of anti-christ, visualize an empty glass in front of you. The glass being empty represents full Christ consciousness. If you add water into the glass – which occurs each time you act from the mind of anti-christ – then your state of Christ consciousness becomes less, and your state of anti-christ consciousness becomes more. If you stop acting from the mind of anti-christ, and begin acting “only” from the Christ mind, gradually the water will evaporate from the glass and you will gradually achieve full Christ consciousness. Yet in order to stop acting from the mind of anti-christ, you must first uncover and release all “hidden” anti-Christ feelings and thoughts within your subconscious mind to achieve this full Christ mind state, which requires a great deal of inner work. It is not enough just to “act” Christ-like on the surface, you must remove the beam in your own eye – the beam being all impure thoughts and feelings of anger, hate, jealousy, prejudice, violence, superiority, inferiority, intolerance and condemnation.

This is no mean feat, when you consider the anti-christ consciousness has infiltrated society at all levels, including religions – where separatism and elitism are commonplace, in schools – where you are rated as better than or less than your peers, and in the media – where competition, pride, and intolerance are encouraged. For this reason, you see souls with a wide variance of either Christ or anti-christ consciousness within their make-up. Consider it is like a spiral staircase. At the top of the spiral staircase is full Christ awareness, and at the bottom is full anti-christ living. Which step of the spiral staircase are you on?

Earth is currently going through an ascension process and it is linked to the number of souls on Earth achieving Christ awareness. For the Earth to ascend, 144,000 souls on Earth need to have achieved a very high degree of personal Christhood. This is happening and the Earth ascension process will begin from the year 2013 and will mark the beginning of the New Age of the Golden Age of Christ Consciousness. Souls who choose to “remain” in the mind of anti-christ and not embrace the Christ mind will choose to leave the Earth through natural disasters, chronic illnesses, and suicide. This process has been happening since 1982, as a result of a concentrated mass of Christ energy sent into the Earth’s atmosphere by the Ascended Masters – called the Photon Belt Christ Energy.

From the year 2013, only souls who are of the Christ mind will be allowed to reincarnate on Earth and there will be a 1000 year grace period of peace on Earth to enable souls to achieve full Christ consciousness. Souls choosing to remain in the mind of anti-christ will not be permitted to return to Earth and there only option will be to reincarnate onto another planet that still allows for this state of separatism – this state of anti-christ consciousness – to exist.

Water Gardening

[ad_1]

Choosing the site: The site should be ideally in part sun. This means sun preferably in the morning and shaded in the afternoon. This will keep the pond from getting too warm in the summer months. This will also help keep the algae from getting out of control.

Hard or soft liner? In my experience a soft liner works best. The hard liners are pre-formed and not easy to get level. When you are installing a pre-formed liner many of them have built in plant shelves and different levels. Dig the hole larger than the entire surface size of the pond and the total depth. This makes for a lot of digging. Once its dug and the bottom is level, install the liner and start back filling. Try to have more than one person back fill with you, so the liner does not shift. Try to pack it down as you go. Putting some water in the liner will help anchor it in place while you are back filling it. If you live in an area of the country that has freezing temps in the winter, BEWARE: Hard liners can pop out of the ground during the winter months.

A soft liner gives you more flexibility. With design, with layout and the edges are easier to hide.

When digging for a soft liner install, spray paint the shape of the pond onto the ground, then start digging. This too should be as level as possible, however the soft liner is very forgiving and will bend to any slight bumps or divets. To install shelves in the pond, you can dig the shape into the wall of the pond or use materials such as cinderblock to create shelves. A pond fabric underlayment is extremely important. This will protect the liner from roots and rough edges. If you are using cinderblock or other rough materials to create ledges or shelves pad the edges well so they will not rub against the liner itself. As you install the soft liner get the bottom set and smooth (you will have to get in the pond) and work your way up. Again adding water to the liner will add pressure and help smooth out wrinkles. If you are building a waterfall, run a soft liner under the rocks and into the pond. Make sure it overlaps into the pond a good bit. This will reduce the amount of water loss.

With a hard or soft liner you will want to cover up the edges with some type of rock border. This is for decorative purposes if you are using a hard liner, however, if you are using a soft liner a rock border is a must. This will anchor the liner in place and keep the edges from moving or sliding. You can use natural stone such as Slate or Bluestone for a natural look or for a more contemporary look, cut prefabricated concrete wall capping for a clean custom look.

Filter Systems: There are two types of biological filter systems. In the water and above ground. The in the water systems are good for smaller ponds. The pump and filter system sit in the bottom of the pond. These systems are relatively inexpensive, the down side is that when the filter needs to be cleaned (on a regular basis, at least bi-weekly) you are getting wet.

The above ground systems are more expensive, however, once installed they are easier to maintain and are good for larger ponds and ponds with waterfalls. These pumps are generally stronger than the submersible type and can push more water. The filters are easier to change and clean.

When cleaning your filter system, whether above ground or in the pond, Never clean the entire filter system at one time. There are usually more than one filter pad or chamber of filter medium. Clean half at a time. You want to keep a supply of beneficial bacteria in the filter system. The beneficial bacteria helps to filter our things like chlorine and waste. It will also keep the algae at bay.

Having Fish: If you want to have fish in your pond, it should be 24′ – 30″ deep at the center so the fish can be wintered over. It also provides a cool spot for fish in the summer. A biological filter is also a must. Start with small, inexpensive fish. The fish will grow to fit the size of the pond, and you are bound to lose a few from time to time. Unless you are an experienced water gardener, I would not recommend spending $80.00 on a special Koi. Koi are beautiful, but they are also dirty fish. They excrete more waste than a regular goldfish.

Caring for your fish: Before you put any fish in your pond, neutralize the chlorine from the water. Fish hate chlorine! I recommend letting the pond settle for a few weeks and let the filter system grow a little beneficial bacteria before adding fish. When you do add fish, let the fish acclimate to the water temperature for at least one hour before cutting open the bags and pouring them into the pond. This way the fish can change temperature slowly and reduce the chance of shock. A dose of stress coat in the water will help reduce stress. This will coat the fish and reduce stress. The other deadly problem for fish is high Nitrates. Doing some reading about water chemistry in ponds will go a long way.

Pond plants are also great for the pond. They provide a source of shade and food for the fish. There are floating plants, such as Water Lettuce, Water Hyacinth, Anacharis and Water lillies. There are also bog plants. These grow in special pots and sit in the ledges of the pond, such as Iris, Cannas and Cat Tails. There are dozens of different types of pond plants. This will add aesthetic beauty to the pond. It will also create a habitat for frogs and turtles.

I know this sounds like a lot of work, but really its just a lot of info. Once you get your pond installed and balanced, it will be a joy. Put a bench near the pond so you can sit, relax and enjoy the serenity of a pond in your own backyard.

There are many ready to install pond kits available that will make building a pond quick and easier then you can imagine. You can find a series of sizes to meet your specific needs at most Garden Centers.

Virya: The Thermal Action of Herbs and Foods

[ad_1]

This is basic science. Hot substances warm and cold substances cool. Herbal formulas are a combination of hot and cold remedies that are balanced to fit the energetic makeup of the individual and their condition. The categories of ‘hot’ and ‘cold’ are not absolutes but guides on the path of balance. Though they are commonly classified alone they should be considered along with the other guna qualities of dry, unctuous, light, heavy, penetrating and soft. In fact, Charaka lists the six secondary actions (Upakrama) as energetic virya. The quality of virya is always more therapeutically important than rasa and vipaka. For example, a hot remedy such as fresh ginger (zingiber officinale) can be used to heat the body to cause a sweat that has the effect of cooling the body temperature. Conversely a cooling remedy such as kutki (Picrorrhiza kurroa) can be dispensed at a low dose to stimulate the digestion via its other light and dry properties and hence increase metabolism and heat. Other external influences such as the time of year that the herb is used, the constitution and condition of the patient as well as their subjective experience will all affect the physiological heating or cooling effect of the plant.

Hot (Usna)

Heat warms, dries, invigorates and stimulates the tissues. This is Just as the sun on a hot day causes the blood to come to the surface of the body, so energetically hot herbs cause our metabolism to expand upwards and outwards causing the pores of the skin to open. Hot substances are high in the fire (tejas) element. Heat increases the metabolism, encourages circulation, cause sweating, light-head to treat cold, contracted and hypo or sluggish conditions. Beneficial to kapha and vata, it dries damp, phlegm and warms cold. As ‘like increase like’ pungent herbs encourage agni and digestive to pungent herbs encourage agni and digestion to function at optimum level. Herbs that are heating usually contains volatile oils or mustard glycosides that stimulate gastric secretions as well as assimilation of nutrients. Usna substances have a particular affinity for the heart, head, liver and lungs and are commonly used when they are imbalanced but may damage them. Pungent, sour and salty herbs tend to be heating.

Cold (shita)

Cold natured herbs cool, moisten and sedate the tissues and metabolism. Rather like the cold of a winter’s day causes you to shiver, energetically cold herbs contract the muscle and narrow the channels of circulation. They are high in the water element. Cold substances are usually used to treat ‘hot’, inflamed and hyper conditions. Cold benefits pitta while aggravating kapha and vata; cold-natured herbs soothe painful and inflammatory heat conditions. Digestion is easily damaged by cold-natured herbs and should be used cautiously when there is diarrhea and sluggish digestion from cold. Cold herbs have a affinity for the stomach, the kidneys and the bladder and can weaken them if used excessively. Bitter, astringent and sweet herbs tend to be cooling.

The classifications of hot and cold can be further separated into a hierarchy of degrees that will increase or decrease agni in the body. This emulates the vedic classification of agni representing the heating qualities of solar fire and soma representing the cooling qualities of lunar water. This is conveyed into tridosa theory with agni representing tejas and pitta, soma representing ojas and kapha with vata balanced in the middle as the regulatory prana.

Mascarpone Cheese – Enjoy the Delicious Taste of Mascarpone Cheese

[ad_1]

The milky white color of Mascarpone cheese comes form the double and triple cream process. The cream used to make it is low in fat. Many times Mascarpone cheese resembles a light colored butter. The unique taste of Mascarpone cheese is due to the fact that the milk comes from cows that are fed a special diet of grasses, herbs, and flowers. It is commonly made in the area of Lombardy.

The process of making Mascarpone cheese involves letting the milk from the cow stand for a length of time. The cream from the milk will rise to the top and it is skimmed off. The cream that remains is placed into large metal containers and then heated to 185 degrees Fahrenheit. During the heating process tartaric acid and water are added to the mixture so it with become thick and dense.

The cream mixture is then cooled and refrigerated for at least 12 hours. They whey in the cream separates during the cooling process. The whey is removed form the mixture and the Mascarpone is placed in cloth bags for an entire day. Any remaining whey is separated during this process. The remaining product that is sold as Mascarpone cheese has a fat content of 47%, one of the highest of all cheese products out there.

Since it does have such a high fat content, Mascarpone cheese isn’t classified as one of the healthiest for you. However it does contain high amounts of calcium. Individuals who have lactose intolerance often miss the taste of cheese. It is the whey in cheese that they have trouble digesting. Since the whey is removed from Mascarpone cheese it makes a good alternative.

The cheese needs to be consumed within four days after it is made to ensure the best quality taste. There are plenty of options for using Mascarpone cheese. Many people enjoy adding a touch of sugar to it and blending it with their favorite fruits. A classic Italian dish involves mixing Mascarpone cheese with anchovies, mustard, and spices. This tastes very similar to butter cream frosting so it is used for dipping, filling, and frosting. It is often used in the melted for as a hot dipping sauce.

4 Essential Questions to Ask Your Ventilation System Provider

[ad_1]

Choosing the right service provider to commission or install ventilation systems – whether natural, mechanical or smoke – is essential in order to obtain a system that works optimally. There are several experts to choose from in any given area, and your choice will largely depend on your needs and the specialism of the company.

There are many companies that specialise in a particular type of ventilation system, such as smoke ventilation, but there are also those which are generalists, with a team of experts that are proficient in commissioning and installing all different types. Whichever you are thinking of hiring, ask the following four questions in order to determine whether they are right for your project.

Firstly, check with the company how many years of experience that they have installing or commissioning the particular type of system that you want installed. Experience is an important part of being able to design and fit a system that is perfectly tailored to your building’s needs, so verify that the experts you are thinking of hiring can deliver in this area.

Rather than just experience in a specific domain such as natural or smoke ventilation, look for service providers that have completed projects in buildings that are just like yours. If you are the owner of a block of student flats, look for a provider who has already undertaken and successfully completed this type of project.

The next question to ask is how the company typically handles project management. The reason for this is that issues can often occur when there are misunderstandings between the client and the company doing the installation work. The best companies, however, will be aware that this type of problem arises, and will have developed a strategy to overcome it.

In particular, ask how they intend to make sure that there are no misunderstandings and how they can ensure that particular specifications are met. When making your selection, opt for the company that is able to explain its particular approach, and how past experience has led its team to adopt it.

The third question to ask is whether or not the company provides full training along with the commissioning or installation of the natural, mechanical or smoke ventilation system. This is important, as management will be passed over to the owner or building manager at a later stage, and certain statutory requirements must be adhered to.

Often companies will provide full training on how to maintain a log book and schedule maintenance checks, but be careful to check what exactly is included in the service; training may come at an additional cost to installation and handover.

Fourthly, ask whether or not the company has a stock of different ventilation equipment to meet your needs. In the case of generalist ventilation installation companies, they will often have a large number of different items in stock to cater to the broadest customer base. They will also likely have contact with international suppliers who will be able to deliver specialist products.

As the efficiency of your system will depend in part on the quality of the equipment, knowing what the installation company provides and why is important in gauging whether they are the right company to work with or not.

When you are thinking of hiring a company to commission or install ventilation systems in your property, these are just four of the questions that you should ask before making your final decision on whom to hire.

Experience is incredibly important, as is the ability to be able to cater to your very specific needs. Your chosen service provider should also be able to demonstrate how project management is handled efficiently, and let you know how much their training and maintenance services cost in addition to the commissioning and installation of your ventilation system.

Saving Costs On Air Conditioner Repairs Through Regular Maintenance

[ad_1]

Routine repairs of air conditioners have become a common occurrence in most homes and offices especially at the start or during the summer season when temperatures are generally higher. For most people, this man made invention is the only thing that keeps life bearable during hot weather, so they do not mind spending large amounts to pay for air conditioning repair. Getting a basic understanding of the working principles and regular maintenance can help you save some good money every year.

Usually, there are two key areas technicians work on when they perform these repairs and they include the condenser and the evaporator units. For split AC units, you will usually find the condenser unit located outside of the house while the evaporator will be located in the unit placed in the house. These two pieces of equipment have to be tuned or maintained regularly in order to save costs on repairs. A renowned technical study has shown that air conditioners lose about 5% of normal efficiency every year without regular maintenance procedures.

To prevent high costs on your routine summer repairs, take advantage of special prices usually offered by technicians during spring and fall. Note that some air conditioners can also be used as heating units, so winter is not the best time for low prices. This is due to the fact that the AC technicians are usually busier during seasons of extreme weather. Generally, the servicing will include activities like belt adjustment, coolant level checks, checking for leaks and cleaning the air filters etc.

One other good way to save money on unplanned fixes is by understanding the DIY aspects of these repairs, so that you do not have to call the technicians every time something occurs. During the annual maintenance exercise, observe the different activities performed by your technicians and ask a few questions. You can also read through DIY websites to determine steps you can perform. However, ensure that the power source is completely switched off at all times before you attempt any repairs or checks.

Finally, ensure that the coolant level and piping system of your air conditioner is checked at least once every year or before any repair is made to other components. If the coolant level is low, the pipes must also be checked for leakage before more coolant is put in; else, you will have to spend more money to get more coolant after the leakage is fixed. Just think about it using this mindset; pay a little now to get the technicians to service your unit rather than paying so much more every summer to keep the unit running.
