Attracting Women – Wearing Red Signals Attraction And Power
[ad_1]
Unless you have been living under a rock recently you would have noticed that Prince William of Wales, the second in line for the British throne, got married. As is traditional for men of royalty, he got married in a military uniform. He stepped out of the car at the church with his brother and was greeted to a rock star reception.
Most of the adoring crowd comprised of women watching the world’s most eligible bachelor pass on that title to his younger brother. If you were a single man watching that telecast (and it is okay to admit it – 2 billion people watched that historical event including myself), did you catch the lesson you can learn for your dating life? Now you might be thinking “what in the world has a Prince getting married got to do with me scoring next Friday night?” Pay attention, as this is the most important pickup advice you will ever read.
Prince William was wearing red.
Prince William is a honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards in the British Army. The dress uniform for the Colonels is a scarlet jacket and black pants.
The color red is associated through history with status and power. In Williams’s case, his Royalty is one of the pinnacles of status and power as it is a title that cannot be bought or sold. It can only be inherited or married into. Reach for the history books and you will see this association repeated through the millennia. In ancient Rome, the most powerful citizens wore red. The same account can be seen through Asia where red is a color of prosperity and it is so even today.
You don’t have to be a royal prince or even wealthy to take advantage of this fact. You can use it to pick up women with just a subtle change to your wardrobe. A 2010 study by the University of Rochester published in the Journal Of Experimental Psychology shows that just about any man who wears red will be seen as more attractive and sexually desirable to women. The study, titled Red Rank And Romance in Women Viewing Men, conducted 7 separate tests on how women view men. The researchers found that “… women view men in red as higher in status, more likely to make money and more likely to climb the social ladder. And it’s this high-status judgment that leads to the attraction…”
The most interesting part of the study is that the effect is subconscious. Women are unaware of the effect that you wearing red will have on them. The effect also crosses cultural borders as well. The 288 heterosexual or bisexual women involved in the study were from United States, England, Germany, and China. In other words, this will work in Beijing as well as it will work in New York or Dusseldorf.
Now Prince William’s appeal might not just have been due to his red jacket. Being a prince, belonging to one of the wealthiest families in the world, and having his mother’s good looks may have played a part. But that does not matter. You are not trying to impress an entire generation of single women. You are just after one or two phone numbers. So go shopping, buy a well fitting or tailored red shirt and have fun.
One final tip though. Don’t share this secret if you really want to succeed. It will look awkward if everyone wears red. You want to stand out and get attention. Only when you have achieved your goal should you pass on this knowledge to a worthy apprentice.
